January 2009.  After years of travel in South America, in Cuba and in Spain, we finally do what all Canadians yearn to do - head south to Mexico for the winter.

Not that we were content to hang out in an all-inclusive resort catering to Gringos! Nosotros hablamos Español y queremos visitar lugares mexicanos.  Plus, adamantly refusing to acknowledge that we’re in our 60’s, we’d planned to travel by backpack and bus as we did in our days of adventure travel.
